Sunday August 16th, 10:30am
Woodland High School, Breslau
Redeemer family, we are excited to finally have an opportunity to gather all together again! We have been given the opportunity to use Woodland HighSchool for a Lord’s Table Gathering.
Woodland has a large 400 seat sanctuary that will enable us to gather for worship safely, distanced & celebrate the Lord’s table!
This worship service will be shorter, approximately 30-40 minutes. Given we have not gathered for some time, we want everyone together and not have volunteers serving in children’s classes.
As we are indoors, in the interest of caring for the vulnerable among us, masks must be worn during the service. Children 5 and under are exempt.
Out of an abundance of caution, we will not sing at this service. As an eldership, we are cognizant that the people of God have been a “singing people” since the Exodus, so this is of course, frustrating. However, in the interest of loving our neighbour we are going to exercise caution here and revisit the subject of singing with masks as we return to corporate worship, mindful of what is happening in our region with covid this fall.
Susan Dunk will lead a live children’s lesson from the front and we will have sections blocked off for families with small children to come to the front and participate while distanced.
The children will remain with parents for the service & the sermon will therefore be much shorter. There will also be a room available should a little one start to fuss.
After the sermon, we receive the Lord’s table together – YES! The sacraments will be prepared with masks & gloves & set up on tables in a manner where families can receive them safely.
After our dismissal, we will enjoy a picnic lunch together outside on their large property. Be sure to bring lawn chairs & a cooler for your family to stay and enjoy some community together!
We will need volunteers to come early to help set up chairs, hand sanitizer, tape down traffic routes & help direct people as they come to worship.
If you’re available to volunteer and come for a 9:00am set up time, please contact Rick Luymes at [email protected]
