PURPOSE OF THE RESPONSE TEAM
We love God, love each other, and we love our community. Therefore, our aim is to create a welcoming and safe environment for everyone. Our priority is to protect the vulnerable within our church family.
The Church Care Response Team is here to support our church community by addressing concerns or inquiries related to the care and safety of all members—especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Our goal is to provide the right resources and connect people with the support they need, both within the church and the broader community.
THE RESPONSE TEAM IS NOT:
Pastoral Care
A counselling service
CONFIDENTIALITY
Confidentiality is the practice of keeping information private and not sharing it with others without consent. As the Church Care Response Team, we are committed to maintaining confidentiality when information is shared.
LIMITATIONS
Exceptions and limitations to our confidentiality agreement include cases where reporting is required by law, such as:
- Child protection concerns for children under the age of 18
- Under a subpoena, warrant, or directed to release information by a court order
- Situations where there is risk to a person or group of people
- If there is a risk of bodily harm or death or if danger is imminent
ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
The Church Care Response Team is unable to guarantee the security of electronic communication which includes text and email. The Church Care Response Team is committed to your confidentiality and will make every effort to maintain this within the limitations presented by electronic communication.
RECORD KEEPING
The Church Care Response Team maintains records of communication between team members, ensuring records only use initials to identify individuals involved.Records are stored in a Google Drive folder that is accessible only to the Church Care Response Team.
