Why We Give
The first community of Christians in the book of Acts were radically generous with their possessions — a gospel driven generosity that came out of an assurance in Christ’s love and God's care for them. They were not gripped by the fear of lack, because if God gave them His own son, they were convinced He would give them everything they needed materially. The quality of their generous community demonstrated the gospel had truly gripped their hearts and changed their lives.
At Redeemer we want to be a generous community. From opening our homes to one another to forgiving those who hurt us, generosity takes many forms. This includes sacrificial giving as we steward of our finances.

II Corinthians 9:7-12
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God."
